Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
Location: Wrexham (office-based with site visits as required)

Overview

Our client is a leading specialist in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-performance building envelope systems. They are seeking an experienced Roofing & Cladding Design Manager to lead the design function across multiple façade and roofing projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the roofing and cladding design team across multiple projects
• Oversee the full design lifecycle from concept through to construction and handover
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and main contractors
• Ensure all designs meet relevant UK regulations, standards, and project specifications
• Review and approve drawings, calculations, and technical submissions
• Manage design programmes in line with project timelines
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
• Attend design meetings and represent the design function with clients and stakeholders
• Identify and resolve design-related issues proactively
• Drive innovation and best practice in façade and roofing systems

Requirements

• Proven experience in roofing and cladding design within the construction or façade industry
• Strong technical knowledge of building envelope systems, including rainscreen cladding, metal roofing, and waterproofing systems
• Experience managing design teams and leading projects
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
• Strong understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Desirable

• Degree or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline (e.g., Architectural Technology, Engineering, Construction)
• Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects
• Knowledge of BIM processes and coordination
